“A TRUE DEVIL AND HIS DECEPTIVE ANGEL”

By Rania Fogarty

Music: Sense of Time (Gabriel Albuquerque)

Long ago,

There was a Fallen angel. Rebellious, casted out of heaven. Someone who was considered a chief adversary to God, seen as a source of sinful and suffering in the world. But of course, he was the Devil. The Devil who unknowingly fell in love with the purest form of creatures. An Angel. She was a beauty. Devine, elegant celestial being.

One couldn’t define their love even if they wanted to. Where the Devil ruled Hell, the Angel was a protector, a messenger living in heaven. Each day, the love of the Devil and the Angel only grew stronger. It was a moment when the celestial and terrestrial realms momentarily ceased their ceaseless motions to witness the profound beauty of love that transcended boundaries and dimensions, leaving an indelible mark upon the cosmic canvas.

At some point, the divine gaze of God alighted upon a fervent and exquisitely burgeoning love that had taken root amidst the disparate realms of creation. Two souls, hailing from divergent spheres of existence, had serendipitously woven their destinies together in a harmonious symphony of affection and devotion, capturing the very essence of the sublime and the transcendent in their union. The blossoming love was rather unacceptable for the love between a devil and an angel threatened the cosmic balance. Their opposing natures and powers, their union could disrupt the world's harmony and invoke heavenly and infernal consequences like the divine and infernal wrath, and an erosion of the delicate balance that sustains the world's order. So, God conceived the notion of subjecting their affections to a profound test. With divine wisdom, God envisioned a trial that would assess the strength and sincerity of their love, an ordeal designed to discern whether their bond could withstand the inherent challenges of their contrasting natures.

God called out both, the Devil and Angel, to stand in front of Him. He then presented a daunting inferno with the heat of thousand suns. He declared that to prove each other's love, they would lose something dearly important to them, something whose loss would completely taint their heart for eternity.

As they dutifully followed God's orders, the angel and the devil found themselves in contemplation. In the depths of their shared concern, the angel's heart bore the weight of a heavy decision. While the devil chose patience, harbouring a secret that the fire would not harm him, the angel contemplated a drastic course of action in a desperate bid to maintain the cosmic equilibrium.

With a heavy heart, the angel devised a plan to sever the devil's wings during his slumber, intending to bear those fiery plumes into the pit. Unknown to the angel, the devil had prepared to reveal his immunity to the flames, hoping to reassure her of their love's enduring strength.

Little did they know, their choices were poised to unveil the true nature of their love, where trust and sacrifice danced on the precipice of destiny.

The angel embarked upon her plan, cutting the devil's wings while he slumbered. However, when she returned to the pit of fire, a profound transformation had taken place.

The once-angelic figure had been reborn into a devil, marked by the absence of his wings. But of course, the change, the certain twist wasn’t only for her for when she was presented in front of the devil she had known, he wasn’t the devil anymore. His essence too had changed forever by the trails and sacrifices they both had endured. As they both stood in front of each other, their love was redefined.

This was the way of God. God, with His infinite wisdom, recognized the true emotions the Devil and the Angel had which was indeed a proof that symbolized the profound theme of redemption and the capacity for change. The union symbolized the possibility of redemption and transformation, proving that love can evolve and endure, it can not only reshape the destiny of two creatures of different realms, but it can also maintain the balance in the world. For it is true indeed that love can change everything....

 THE END.
